Agents

Current Definition
Agents are computational entities which are not activated explicitly by the user but act on their own dependent of changes in the their environment; they can infer higher-level goals from user actions, and they can analyze user activities and user products. Insight in the construction of computational agents is drawn from analyzing the behavior of human agents (such as travel agents, sales agents at McGuckin). Examples of computational agents are critics, expectation agents and knowbots.
