Reuse

Current Definition
Reuse is a design methodology in which the work of previous designers is exploited. The underlying theory for the importance of reuse is grounded in Simon's observation that "complex systems evolve faster if they can build on stable subsystems." Object-oriented design and component-based architectures are potentially interesting models to take advantage of reuse. DODEs are built on the idea that all knowledge about a domain (including components, argumentation, critiquing rules, cases) should be reused.
