Infoware

Current Definition

As the amount of information one system manages increases recent information technologies are transitioning from information processing to information management. Infoware systes are geared toward specifically toward management of personal and shared information. While a traditional information system deals with small amount of information by rich functionalities, infoware deals large amount of information by fairly limited common functionalities.

The web-browser is a simple example of infoware.
