Scaffolding

Current Definition
Scaffolding is about the way we set up a task, explain (the language of ) a task. The Tharp and Gallimore book come up alot in ed research about how current methods of teaching may not be effective for learning. The application to OMOL is that telling someone the steps they should follow, the icons they should use may only be effective in your own genre. You limit yourself. As you become increasingly aware of the limitations, defenses, and resistance to change you can create information spaces on the WWW which really do motivate individuals and organizations to learn. The scaffolding is a way to allow for a more inclusive learning for novices and experts get involved in the scaffold construction in my humble opinion.
