Current Definition

Learning is the process of sense-making. In this process all participants are actively involved in the change and creation of knowledge of and between these participants.
Learning is situated, meaning that the physical, historical and social environment is inherently involved in this process.

Learning has emerged as the most challening activity in our world of today where there is too much to know for any individual. DODEs provide the foundation for a variety of innovative learning strategies such as: lifelong learning, self-directed learning, learning on demand, and organizational learning. With our attempt to move beyond the "gift-wrapping" approach, we are specifically exploring aspects of learning for which computational media are essential.
