This is the home page of the LivingBook Documentation. The LivingBook is an adaptation of a paper-based book manuscript into an extensible, web-based form.

About the Documentation Pages

The documentation pages are displayed in a separate window from the LivingBook content to facilitate understanding of the documentation.

All of the documentation pages have the same layout:

The available documentation topics appear at the left of the page.
The current topic is highlighted in yellow.

To Get Started

Pages most helpful to understand this prototype are:

Window Layout - explains the regions and functions of the LivingBook Contents window

Section Views - explains the various views of the LivingBook sections

Object Model - explains the behavior of the different LivingBook objects you will encounter

Future Documentation Work

The LivingBook documentation set will eventually include information about the vision behind the LivingBook idea, as well as usage scenarios to give the reader an idea of how the LivingBook is intended to be used by a "Community of Participation".

For now, I have tried to provide information that "insiders" need to get acquainted with the prototype.
