Abstract DEMO II is a user interface builder supporting the definition of interface behavior by demonstration. Behavior gets captures in form of stimus-response patters. In addition to the stimulus the system suggest conditions for the applicability of the behavior. Heuristics are used to order conditions for maximum likelyness. A user attaches responses to stimuly like mouse cliking by going through the following steps: • draw picture • demonstrate stimulus • demonstrate response • test interface These steps correspond to ridgid modes that are very explicit to a user. DEMO II provides the concept of guide wires to the developper. Guide wires are used to simplify, otherwise complex, spatial relationships between objects.
