Abstract In contrast to other example-based systems Chimera does not require an explicit start/stop directive from a user to record actions. Instead, the actions get recorded all the time and the user can make use of a history mechanism to define re-usable behavior. The recorded history has a graphical representation of individual states. The graphical representations are editable by the user to refine and explore certain aspects of the demonstration. Chimera (like DEMO II) uses heuristics to create ordered lists of possible user intends. Chimera is a macro facility and, therefore, deals with the invocation of behavior by giving explicit control to the user when and why a macro should be used.
