Dynamic
Typical web sites are static - their links and displays are determined at "design time". (e.g., design time for this document was 8/31/97; 12:18:27 PM). DynaSites is dynamic because each page it serves is built at "view time" (e.g., NOW! 7/30/11; 8:33:07 PM).

Extensible by Users (like you)
DynaSites is a "living" information space that evolves continuously as a by-product of its use. It evolves as users create new documents, add new information and links to existing documents, and create links between documents as as well as to the worldwide web at large.

Integrated
DynaSites automatically creates links from words used in one document to a central Glossary, and from the glossary back to where the word is used in other documents. This mechanism integrates the various DynaSites documents, and helps users to see where topics are discussed and the various ways a term is used throughout the information site. Click here to read more about (and try out) this integrating mechanism.

Theoretical Background
Dynasites is part of a research agenda investigating computational support for collaborative working and learning. One of the theoretical foundations for Dynasites is Collaborative Knowledge Construction, which postulates that information spaces supporting collaborative work and learning should grow and be shaped over time by the people who use them.

Navigational Hint
The DynaSites site is very large and you may find yourself lost from time to time. Remember, you can always get back to the home page by clicking the DynaSites Logo at the bottom of every pag.
